Our S1 recoil clutch kit for the Z10 Turbo is budget friendly and packs a huge punch! The factory clutching is adequate but leaves power on the table, especially when adding one of our performance ECU calibrations (tunes). Our clutch kit will help a bone stock Z10 gain some belt grip and a little performance, but we see the big gains when flashed.
The factory clutching is set to operate at roughly 7600-7800 peak RPM. When adding tuning, we see this jump up to 8500-8700 RPM. By adding our stiffer spring and custom angle helix, we bring RPM down, yet bring belt grip up. This had a big impact on acceleration, yet greatly reduces belt heat. Running OEM clutching with a well tuned Z10 adding max power is going to create more belt heat, and eventually lead to problems. This is especially true when running larger tires as the OEM spring is just not stiff enough to handle the load, plus extra power.
We tried well over 100 clutching combinations on the secondary clutch alone. Some others may say they found big power by adding RPM on a bone stock vehicle by adding a very stiff spring and decreasing the helix angle. We found the exact opposite... this lost power. Stiffer springs and shallower helixes shift slower, which put less power to the tire. In extreme high load situations this works as we need to decrease, but in this case and our findings, this is not valid. On the ECU tuning side, we see power dip off HARD in the OEM calibration if running over 7800 RPM. This is why tuning + clutching is so important to do together.
No matter the terrain: On the farm, trail or at the race you'll notice wicked acceleration and instant clutch response when getting back into the throttle after hammering that corner. The machine will hold RPM so you can get where you need to go, and get there faster! Going mudding? Our high load setup will help turn those tires through the thick and deep with much better RPM and wheel speed that's key to climbing out of that hole. Are you a rock crawler? Our high load setup keeps your clutches in a lower shift ratio to help max belt pinch, and still maintains factory smooth engagement.
Kit works for 30 - 35" Tires
Standard Load: 2 Seat for 29-32" Tires / 4 Seat 29-31" Tires
High Load: 2 Seat for 33-35" Tires / 4 Seat 32-35" Tires
Kit Includes: AA secondary spring and custom cut helix
A compression tool is needed to install the spring and helix: Compression Tool #1
The helix Torx bits are easy to strip, we do not recommend using power tools.
We have a huge amount of CVT knowledge, a great passion for the sport, and spent many hours testing different setups in the real world. We know you'll be extremely pleased with the performance gain from our clutch kits!
Installation video coming soon (Kit is extremely easy to install if you have ever done a UTV secondary clutch)
