Pitman Upgrade POLARIS SPORTSMAN SCRAMBLER 850 1000 - 2205364 - Jay Parts

For Polaris Sportsman & Scrambler with power steering. The Jay Parts Pitman is made of high-strength steel and provides double clamping with a higher bite on the splines. The gusset was added to provide increased strength for those racing in GNCC or running larger than stock setups. 

WHAT IS RESOLVED?

Play in the steering is 80% a worn pitman. The one before 2013 without clamping and from 2014 with clamping. The best way to check is to have someone move the handlebars and use a flashlight to watch the splines closely under the power steering. If the power steering output shaft moves without the pitman moving, the splines are worn, and the pitman needs to be replaced.

On models from 2009 - 2012, adjustments may be necessary to put the steering lock in the pitman; holes are provided.

RECOMMENDATION
For installation, we also recommend checking the tie rod ends first and also changing them during the pitman install. 

We recommend install being done by a certified work shop or technician.
